MGP 10 & 12 – Untreated, LOSP H2, T2 &
LOSP H3
Machine Graded Pine (MGP) is a form of timber
that has been machine graded into stress grades. The timber is fed continuously
through a machine that calculates the timber stiffness by measuring the load
required to bend the timber. The piece of timber is then branded with the
appropriate stress grade. MGP is a more accurate method of assessing the
structural capacity of the timber in comparison to F-Grading, which is used to
grade Treated and Untreated Pines.
MGP in its untreated form should only be used for internal application where the
timber is not exposed to the weather or the possible attack of insects and other
timber destroying organisms. In these situations MGP can be treated to T2, H2 &
H3 LOSP to provide the appropriate protection for each hazard level.
